What is Chittagong SHORT ?

Chittagong SHORT is a group of people who are working with creative and progressive thinking that build brand, make desire to uphold humanity. Established in 25 May, 2015 with a view to encourage and to motivate young filmmakers to learn and make good quality Bengali films. NOKSHA, an emerging advertising firm has been working since 2003 in Chittagong. To encourage the youngsters especially the filmmakers NOKSHA started a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project titled Chittagong SHORT with the support of দৈনিক আজাদী, the first newspaper of independent and sovereign Bangladesh. It is a fundamental objective of Chittagong SHORT to strengthen the network of filmmakers including scriptwriters, directors, artists and production houses though they are independent and autonomous in their own arena.

Festival Objectives

Chittagong SHORT Film Festival (#CSFFBD) aims to promote and recognize those who have walked the extra mile and shown creativity to the community. Its purpose is to show outstanding independent films, recognize and support new filmmakers and to enhance understanding of cinema as art among diverse audiences. We encourage filmmakers who created their films with a low budget to submit their film to CSFFBD. The judgment criteria of the submitted films are new ideas, experimental cinematography, talented work of actors and an independent point of view.

Chittagong (officially renamed as Chattogram) is the commercial capital of Bangladesh, one of the most beautiful and charming places of the country. Chittagong SHORT upholds the beauty and importance of this city to the whole world through the festival.

The Jury Board

Chittagong SHORT Film Festival ensures a fair film trafficing towards the final result. This process is led by a jury board which is made up combindly young and experienced filmmakers and film educationist. The board watches each film entry and rate for general content, treatment of subject, production value, creativity, overall impact.

All submissions in Chittagong SHORT Film Festival are processed & viewed in the same manner. For encouraging the young Filmmakers, CSFFBD wants to standardize the submission fees as much support as possible for participating the festival. In addition, the festival submission & marketing fees cover the administrative expenses related to cataloging, previewing & digitizing each work.

2nd Chittagong Short Film Festival inaugurated in the Port City

January 7, 2017 #RedCarpet of #CSFFBD in Dainik Azadi

The inauguration ceremony of Chittagong Short Film Festival 2017 was held on the Engineer Abdul Khalek Auditorium in Chittagong Press Club on 7th January 2017. All of the filmmakers who submitted their film in the competition were invited in the function. They walked on the red carpet and shared their experience about the film they submitted. M. Ismail Chowdhury, the President of Chittagong Short Festival 2017 officially announced the inauguration of the festival.

The best film of the festival was 'Poster', a film by Ahsif Khan. 'Mr Abid Mallick' was awarded as the best director.

January 21, 2017 #DhakaSHOW in UNB

The main attraction of Chittagong SHORT Film Festival - Film Screening and the price giving ceremony was held on the Theatre Institute Chittagong on 21 January 2017. One of the interesting part of the day was the masterclass. The masterclass was held by Famous Architect+Filmmaker Enamul Karim Nirjhar and Famour Actress Aupee Karim.

After the houseful show of the screening, the price giving function was started. The best film of the festival was 'Poster', a film by Ahsif Khan. 'Mr Abid Mallick' was awarded as the best director. The best foreign language award was given to Dheeraj Jindal'ss 'The School Bag'. 'Mr. Ihtesham Ahmed Tingku' was awarded as the best actor and 'Ms. Priyanka Bose Kanta' was awarded as the best actress.

Chittagong Short film festival begins in city titled Dhaka SHOW

The Dhaka show of 'Chittagong Short Film Festival' began in the capital's Bangladesh National Museum BNM on Saturday. Chittagong Short Films for Humanity organised the show in association with BNM, Dainik Azadi, CA Property Development Limited and Barcode aiming to introduce the works of the young filmmakers to the world.
